Prospect Community Housing are working with the Edinburgh and Lothian Greenspace Trust to run a series of sessions aimed at conserving and improving the Westburn Woods every Wednesday in November 2021.
November Wednesday Sessions
- 3 November -Bulb Planting woodland spring flowers
- 10 November – Woodland Management thinning and removing invasive species
- 17 November – Litter Picking
- 24 November – Building bird boxes for the woods
All the sessions start at 1.00PM and last for either 1 or 1.5 hours.
Recent activities have included litter picking, a bird box making workshop and woodland management where the group tackled thinning out non-native invasive species in the woods. This will enable other native plants and trees to grow, increasing biodiversity in the woodland space which is one of the aims of the Westburn Woods Management Plan.
