Mindfulness and Poetry Course

WHALE Arts and Push the Boat Out will be launching a new six week mindfulness and poetry workshop from Tuesday 13 September 2022, 2.30pm – 4.00pm.

These workshops led by poet, writer, and meditation practitioner Colin McGuire will combine mindfulness and imagination with poetry in surprising ways, using the breath, the body, objects, art, language, and our own minds to communicate and embody our experience. 

Each session will focus on a specific meditation practice and theme. Participants will then create poetry in written or visual form (or both) to embody the concepts, and their response to the practices.  

This experience is ideal for seasoned mindfulness practitioners and beginners alike, and for all those who are interested in poetry. If you want to explore and learn more about mindfulness and how to apply it to writing and art in everyday life, this is for you!
