Kaleidoscope: Haikus in Winter

KaleidoscopeWelcome to Kaleidoscope your source for arts and entertainments created in Wester Hailes by local people!

Haikus in Winter

Black Pentlands bald with snaw
turn rosy in the evening glow
these are the high lands of Death
where one day I shall go

A red mist offended
obscuring a golden evening’s westering
that gleams in my dark eye still
long after descended.

November – Kennedy’s month
little children alive then
who understood nothing
grieve now about that, as old men

Don’t condemn me for drinking Heineken
that was JFK’s favourite beer
some things are still sacred

G.H – February 2016
