Local groups visit Social in the Street

Several Wester Hailes groups paid a visit to the Royal Bank of Scotland Headquarters at Gogarburn today as part of Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network’s Social in the Street.

The event allowed social enterprises from across the city to set up stalls within the building in a “street” which runs through the headquarters. They were then able to sell and speak about their products and services to the over 6000 people who work in the building.

The event was attended by groups from across the city with a variety of products on sale including handmade jams, curry and wooden spoons as well as more well known groups like the Big Issue and Breast Cancer support. The local groups included Re-Union Canal Boats as well as WHALE Arts who were selling some of the artworks and pom poms created by their smART CRAFT group, and Margaret Stewart who creates her own jewelry and cards.
